Yeh, speaking about cellphones and other mobile devices, Google’s Android logo design sucks big times:

Google Android
If their core platform has the same creativity level as logo design, I’ll probably stick with Apple’s iPhone for a while.
Generally speaking, Google logo itself looks so ‘nineteen-ninety’. I am still curious, why the logo is not flashing and Google homepage does not produce beep on load? It is so easy to do this with html tags ‘blink’ and ’sound’!

An android is supposed to look like a person. That’s just a robot. And a ripoff of IQ-9 at that.
But following their logic, the Android phone should have screen on one side of the gadget and keyboard on the other. And keyboard buttons should look like “old ohmmeter ” power switches made out of ebonite.
If the design sucks, the average Joe (or Wendy if you prefer) will go and buy iPhone instead. They do not care that your DSP chip has better characteristics and your software has great architecture and clean code implementation. If it lacks “cool glassy buttons like in iPhone” they will go shopping for something else. That’s today’s reality.

No, I really do. I think it looks open-source and friendly. And sleek. And it will age nicely imho.
