When many people must go to different areas within the same structure – like terminals at an airport – it is a great idea to color code those areas so that even if, like it is often the case at airports, someone doesn’t understand written instructions. At San-Francisco International Airport they are color coded, at least if you look at the monitors at the long-term parking garage:
Unfortunately, the color coding isn’t consistent, which really defies the idea of color coding:
All terminals but the international are shown in yellow color on the map. But there’s more – at the legend there’s yet another combination: blue for the 1st terminal, yellow for the third and green for the international… Well, at least the international is green on both the map and the legend.
