Saw an ad on TV the other day for some sort of a food storage thing, called “Greenbags”. The ad showed two heads of cabbage: one was stored in one of these “Greenbags”, another – in a regular bag. After 26 days the one in a regular bag was all rotten, but the other one looked quite green. The announcer asks, “So which one you want?”. Well, I might be a snob but I really want neither of them. Even if it looks fresh, I’d rather go and buy an actually fresh one – just like I did today. A wonderful invention called “farmers market” makes it really easy to obtain fresh fruit and vegetables.

The McDonald’s marketers’ idea is obvious: they want kids to start learning what McDonald’s is from the early age. Once kids grow up they will start playing with the real McDonald’s food, gaining weight themselves and letting McDonald’s gain some hefty profits.

And what is the fun to play with food anyway? Like Tom Hanks’s character in the movie “Big” asks: “What’s the fun to play with buildings?”
